Lincoln-Sudbury committee approves superintendent-principal job posting in unanimous vote

SUDBURY — February 2, 2023 — Lincoln-Sudbury Regional School Committee unanimously approves superintendent-principal posting, targeting a March contract. Superintendent Search Subcommittee Chair Kevin Matthews told the committee Thursday that applications will be due Feb. 28, with screening committee interviews beginning the second week of March and a contract signing targeted by month's end. Members Candace and Kara voted yes but said the hybrid superintendent-principal role remains "awkward" and the posting omits responsibility for leading the school's academic council. Member Harold called the document a living one to be refined through a coming listening session with search consultant Glenn. Kara also warned that putting a non-school-committee member in the screening committee chair could create open-meeting-law exposure for the elected board, saying, "We could be putting someone at risk." Matthews said he was "agnostic" on the chair question, citing MASC guidance.
