Lincoln-Sudbury committee approves $27,500 OSI capital and accessibility assessment

SUDBURY — October 22, 2025 — Lincoln-Sudbury approves $27,500 OSI capital and UFAS accessibility assessment. The School Committee voted 6-0 Oct. 22 to authorize administration to contract with OSI for a 20-year capital needs assessment that bundles in a Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards audit, discounted from $33,000. Director of Finance and Operations Susan Bottan presented competing quotes of $65,200 from Habib Engineering for a capital assessment plus $21,000 for a full ADA audit, and $10,000-$12,000 from the Institute for Human Centered Design for a self-assessment. Member Charles I. Morton, IV pressed on whether UFAS and ADA scope overlap; member John J. Ryan, Jr. and others backed inviting Sudbury Director of Facilities Sandra Duran to advise before a deeper ADA contract is signed. Bottan also reported that against a $39.5 million FY26 budget, the district has expended or encumbered 89 percent through Sept. 30, with a special education out-of-district transportation shortfall to be covered by circuit breaker funds. The committee separately appointed Keystone Development project manager Dan Belonis to the LS roof building committee.
