Liberty Ledge committee approves community survey after extensive revisions

Liberty Ledge_Sewataro Advisory Committee · Meeting of July 23, 2026

SUDBURY — Liberty Ledge committee finalizes survey, extends deadline to September 7. The Liberty Ledge-Sewataro Advisory Committee voted Thursday to remove name and address requirements, cut five granular accessibility questions, and restore a neutral middle option to its community survey on the future of the 44-acre town-owned property. Chair Dave Henkels called the draft too long given a compressed timeline before the October 31 report to the Select Board.

Committee member Kay Bell pressed successfully to extend the survey close date from August 24 to September 7 to capture residents returning from summer travel, shifting initial data review to September 10. Committee member Radha Gargeya proposed replacing "recommendations" with "options for consideration" on member worksheets after Debbie Dineen and Jen Roberts objected to drafting recommendations before survey results come in. The survey opens Monday, July 27, with paper copies at the Fairbank Community Center, Flynn Building, and Goodnow Library.
