Historical Commission recommends Greenstein, targets April Hosmer House reopening

SUDBURY — February 18, 2025 — Sudbury Historical Commission recommends Steven Greenstein for open seat and sets April Hosmer House reopening. The commission voted 5-0 to forward Greenstein, a Windsor Road resident and former Federal Reserve Bank of Boston website manager, to the town manager, with Chair Christopher Hagger flagging an interactive overlay map of the panel's roughly 300 house-inventory forms as a priority project. Vice-Chair Michael Wallace reported Director of Public Health Vivian Zhang told the panel earlier that day that Hosmer House indoor air quality has "drastically improved" and that environmental consultants never recommended closure. Members agreed to target the third Sunday in April for reopening after a routine cleaning by Dynamic Cleaning Services, and unanimously approved $791.14 to print 10 spiral-bound copies of the Hosmer House historic structures analysis and cultural landscape survey. Three Hosmer House Community Preservation Act articles totaling more than $1 million head to spring Town Meeting on the consent calendar.
