Historical Commission moves three Hosmer House grants to May town meeting

SUDBURY — January 21, 2025 — Sudbury Historical Commission moves Hosmer House grants forward and refines rail trail signage. At its Jan. 21 meeting, the commission heard from member Jan Costa that all three Hosmer House CPC applications cleared the Jan. 15 final vote: a $119,500 collections grant, a $386,000 roof grant, and an amended $640,000 envelope-and-HVAC grant after $75,000 in landscaping was reallocated. Chair Christopher Hagger reported that an industrial mold cleaning estimated at $45,000 to $50,000 remains deferred pending a town counsel opinion and review of the November 7 mold-spore report by the Sudbury Director of Public Health. Planner assistant Marsha Rasmussen walked members through near-final kiosk panels and nine granite-post signs for the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail; member Stephen Greenstein reminded the commission that the kiosk panels "are flexible and will be revised over time." The commission voted 6-0 to approve its 2024 Annual Report and the Dec. 10 minutes.
