Historical Commission extends Hosmer House cleaning contract through June at $797 per visit

SUDBURY — February 13, 2024 — Sudbury Historical Commission renews Hosmer House cleaning contract and gets a state outreach roadmap. The commission voted 7-0 on Feb. 13 to approve Amendment 1 to its custodial agreement with Dynamic Janitorial, extending the contract through June 30, 2024 at $797 per cleaning — the same rate as the prior year. Members Jan Costa and Marjorie Katz pushed back on a suggestion to negotiate a reduction because two rooms cannot currently be cleaned, with Costa calling that approach "a bait and switch" that could harm the town's broader vendor relationship. Earlier, Jen Doherty, local government programs coordinator at the Massachusetts Historical Commission, walked Chair Christopher Hagger and the board through outreach strategies tied to Historic Preservation Plan Recommendations 7 and 8 on a town-wide stewardship working group, urging the commission to build products off its Phase 5 inventory work and to start the group small.
