Historical Commission approves Raymond Road barn demolition with conditions
SUDBURY — September 17, 2024 — Sudbury Historical Commission approves 85 Raymond Road barn demolition under design conditions. The commission voted 4-0 to release homeowner Scott Warden's demolition plan from the six-month delay after he agreed to install wood true-divided two-over-two windows and replace a proposed six-panel side door with one "similar to the existing barn door." Chair Christopher Hagger said the six-panel door was "more formal" than appropriate for a barn. The commission also approved a revised $119,500 Community Preservation Committee application for Hosmer House collections work, including $39,000 for an archivist and off-site climate-controlled storage. Combined Facilities Director Sandra Duran reported August mold testing found basement spore counts more than twice the contamination threshold; a retest was conducted Tuesday morning, with results expected within a week.
