Historical Commission approves $1,250 for Hosmer House garden and archival supplies

SUDBURY — April 16, 2024 — Sudbury Historical Commission rushes $1,250 in Hosmer House spending before quorum collapses. Chair Christopher Hagger reordered Tuesday's agenda around three members' early departures, securing 6-0 votes for up to $500 from the general fund for fairy-garden maintenance supplies — pushed up from $200 after Bill Andreas reported that prices at Russell's "have doubled" — and up to $750 for archival materials needed by collections consultant Erin Richardson, who begins a two-week site visit April 22. Vice-Chair Michael Wallace agreed to charge the supplies to his personal account because Town Planner Adam Burney is out and Planning staff lack procurement-card access. Diana Warren reported the operating fund holds roughly $3,386 against a Hosmer House fund balance over $18,000. Hagger also previewed Warrant Article 17, which would authorize town acquisition of the railroad section house and South Sudbury train station from the MBTA.
