Historic Districts Commission conditionally approves Lafayette Drive addition, continues three cases

SUDBURY — August 1, 2024 — Sudbury Historic Districts Commission conditionally approves Lafayette Drive addition, continues three cases to Sept. 5. The commission on Aug. 1 cleared Michael and Jessica Cooper of 26 Lafayette Drive to begin demolition on a rear addition replacing a screen porch, conditioned on a garage-side elevation drawing and a close-up photograph confirming the existing front-window material; Chair Anuraj Shah said proposed Marvin Elevate fiberglass-clad SDL windows were acceptable because the house is not historic. The commission continued Bob Green's 84 Peakham Road new-construction application for a third time after Shah said cupola, dormer and rake-trim details still do not appear in the drawings — "I'm not your designer," he told Green. Alexander Nunez Alvarena's signage application for Franco's Crafty Beer and Wine at 365 Boston Post Road was continued for corrected dimensioned images, and 248 Concord Road was continued after applicants Ellen and Danny Murphy did not appear.
