SUDBURY — November 2, 2023 — Sudbury Historic Districts Commission conditionally approves Jewett kitchen addition and shed, sends Pella windows back in wood. The commission voted 4-0 Thursday to approve a 96-square-foot kitchen addition at 308 Concord Road for Andrea and Todd Jewett, but withheld approval of the Pella Architect Series double-hung windows and slider, citing a longstanding practice against aluminum-clad exteriors. "I don't know of any instance of approving aluminum clad windows," commissioner Jordan said. Tim Schwarzkopf of Platt Builders agreed to resubmit in wood on Dec. 7. A separate 4-0 vote approved a 12-by-16 Pine Harbor "Quivet Cape" shed with natural cedar shingles left to weather, Lancaster White trim, no shutters, a non-poured foundation, and a preference for no windows. A third case at 4 Concords Way was continued after commissioner John "Griff" Noble recused as a direct abutter.
