Historic Districts Commission again continues Presbyterian Church daycare fence to February

SUDBURY — January 9, 2025 — Sudbury Historic Districts Commission continues Presbyterian Church daycare fence for a fourth hearing. The board on Jan. 9 sent applicant Megan Goud back to the Feb. 6 meeting with directions to shrink the proposed four-foot fence at 330 Concord Road, anchor it to the church's bay window and bell-tower pilaster, and bring photographic sightline mock-ups taken from inside the adjacent Revolutionary War cemetery. Member Christopher Hagger called the cemetery "hallowed ground and should be historically respected," citing hundreds of Revolutionary War burials. Chair Anuraj Shah said the current layout was "haphazard and completely not complementary" to the church. The commission also refunded the application fee for a 51 Hudson Road stone wall repair after confirming the wall sits on town property, continued a 708-square-foot addition at 12 King Philip Road over a proposed switch from cedar shingles to composite siding, and authorized Shah and Vice Chair Taryn Trexler to write a letter supporting the Hosmer House cedar-shingle roof application before the Community Preservation Committee's Jan. 15 meeting.
