Goodnow trustees approve trust draws, fall closures and donor plaque

SUDBURY — September 2, 2025 — Goodnow trustees approve $35,800 in trust draws, plaque for donor Lidowitz, and two fall closures. Chair Katina Fontes told the Sept. 2 meeting the library trust portfolio returned 11.02 percent in FY25, supporting unanimous expenditure limits of $35,000 from the Goodnow fund, $100 Bradshaw, $200 Raymond and $500 Rhodes, headed to the Select Board on Sept. 30. Trustees also welcomed new Library Director Amy, promoted from within after a summer search led by Town Manager Andrew Sheehan and trustees Elizabeth "Lissa" Iwasaki and Ingrid J. Mayyasi; the children's summer reading program drew 790 kids logging 10,395 hours, and an inaugural adult kickoff at the Sudbury Point Grill drew 68. The board unanimously approved a Sept. 11 evening closure for shelf reading, an Oct. 17 staff development closure, and a 10-by-10-inch brass plaque honoring donor Susan A. Lidowitz funded through the Goodnow Library Foundation. A draft digital collections policy by new local history librarian Abby Smith was sent back for revision on commercial-use definitions.
