SUDBURY — The Goodnow Library Board of Trustees approved closing the library Friday, Oct. 23, for annual staff training. Trustees unanimously backed level-funded fiscal 2027 trust spending of $35,000 from the Goodnow Fund, $100 from the Bradshaw Fund, $200 from the Raymond Fund and $500 from the Rose Fund, after Library Director Amy noted the funds returned "15.32 percent" last year. The board also voted to send a letter supporting a Community Preservation Act application, due Sept. 14, for a new archival storage room to house roughly "400 linear feet" of local history materials, a project backed by a $20,000 commitment from the Goodnow Library Foundation.
Trustees learned the library has selected consultants Maura of Local Library Consulting and Stephanie Chase of Constructive Disruption to lead its state-mandated strategic plan, due to the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners by October 2027.
