SUDBURY — October 7, 2025 — Goodnow Library Trustees elect Ingrid Mayyasi chair and approve four policies in one sitting. The Sudbury board unanimously installed Mayyasi after the sitting chair announced she was stepping down to launch a business; first-year Trustee Jill K. Caseria had declined the role. Trustees adopted a new Digital Collections Policy presented by archivist Abby Smith — defining commercial use as "any purpose that is marketed, promoted, or sold" — and amended the Acceptable Behavior, Use of Library Facilities and Quiet Study Room policies, the last now capping reservations at three hours per day and treating belongings left more than 15 minutes as abandoned. Director Amy told trustees the library will let its Boston Herald subscription lapse after a 70 percent price jump to $230 a month, against $135 for the Globe and $152 for the Times. The Goodnow Library Foundation's Jennifer Jones reported a $10,000 eBook grant fully expended and three donors covering an expanded teen furniture project.
