Goodnow Library Trustees elect new chair, seat two new members

SUDBURY — May 14, 2024 — Goodnow Library Trustees reorganize and back student crosswalk push. The board unanimously elected Jean Nott chair and Elizabeth M. Iwasaki vice chair at its May 14 meeting, welcomed new members Eriko T. Frank and Megan Kelley, and voted to send a letter of support for Curtis Middle School students pressing for safety improvements at the crosswalk outside the library. Iwasaki, who met with the students by Zoom, said drivers routinely fail to yield: "People do not stop." The library director reported the budget is roughly 83 percent expended, flagged a correction showing the meeting room revolving account opened at $20,000 rather than the $10,005 printed, and noted a second state aid check of about $26,000. Foundation Development Director Jennifer announced a May 29 donor event and confirmed the "Gather for Goodnow Gala" for Oct. 18, alongside a $50,000 endowment match push.
