Council on Aging endorses $200,000 senior center AV article

SUDBURY — March 13, 2023 — Sudbury Council on Aging unanimously endorses $200,000 town meeting article to expand senior center AV equipment. Member Jeff Levine told the board the currently funded $350,000 AV plan leaves senior center program rooms without hearing-assistance systems or hybrid-programming capability, with only one fully equipped room sitting on the recreation side of the new building. "We wanted everyone who came to a senior center program to be able to hear and be heard, regardless of where they sat in a room," Levine said. The council also unanimously backed Article 14, a $150,000 Go Sudbury transportation request, after committee member Bob Lieberman reported the town had secured an $87,000 MassDevelopment grant and was awaiting word on a $50,000 AARP application. Taxi rides cost the town about $80 each; Uber rides about $19. Town meeting opens May 1.
