Council on Aging approves new officer slate and recommends new member

SUDBURY — May 13, 2024 — Sudbury Council on Aging installs new officers and takes aim at draft Housing Production Plan. The council unanimously approved a new slate effective June 1 — Marilyn as chair, Patricia Tabloski as vice chair, and Bob Lieberman as temporary secretary — and voted to forward an applicant identified as Allison to the Select Board for a vacant seat. Member Brenda A. Erickson resigned, citing health reasons. Outgoing chair Jeff argued the 142-page draft Housing Production Plan ignores market-rate senior housing despite two-thirds of Sudbury seniors earning more than $75,000, calling it "a major flaw." Member Carmine Gentile, who chairs the Sudbury Housing Trust, reported the trust voted to request a 120-day comment extension and secured $380,000 in CPA funding at Town Meeting. The MWRTA-backed CatchConnect on-demand van pilot launches July 1, with $2 fares Monday through Friday.
