Conservation Commission approves Sudbury's 2025 Chapter 90 paving program for seven roads

SUDBURY — May 19, 2025 — Sudbury Conservation Commission clears 3.4 miles of paving and a Sudbury Water District well replacement. The commission unanimously approved the Department of Public Works' 2025 Chapter 90 paving program covering seven roadways — including Dutton, Candy Hill and Church streets — and authorized Conservation Coordinator Lori Capone to sign the environmental punch list. Director of Public Works Tina Revard said milling and repaving will begin the week after July 4 and run roughly three weeks. The commission also closed the hearing on Sudbury Water District's replacement of 1964-era Well No. 5 at 15 North Road, contingent on a revised dewatering and stockpile plan by May 23, and waived the town's $537.50 filing fee. Commissioner Mark Sevier pushed the project team to add the standard discharge pad detail to the drawings: "You got a detail." The commission also recommended against exercising a $450,000 right of first refusal on a one-acre parcel at 136 Hudson Road, citing no compelling conservation rationale.
