Conservation Commission approves 120 Longfellow Road teardown on existing foundation

SUDBURY — March 24, 2025 — Sudbury Conservation Commission clears 120 Longfellow Road teardown and rebuild on existing foundation. The board voted 5-0 on March 24 to issue a negative determination of applicability for developer William Curley, who plans to hand-demolish a lightning-damaged 1978 house inside a 100-foot wetland buffer and a 200-foot riverfront area and rebuild on the same footprint, decks included. Conservation Coordinator Lori secured four conditions: a pre-construction meeting, native plantings, an as-built plan, and photo documentation. "There'll be zero, zero excavation on the lot," Curley told the board. Abutter Anna Newberg of 112 Longfellow Road raised concerns about aging pine trees along the property line; Curley offered to discuss pruning. The commission also continued hearings on 20 Tavern Circle and a 70 Ridge Hill Road septic replacement to April 7.
