Zoning Board postpones Harvey Farm Lane appeal after illnesses thin the bench

SUDBURY — March 3, 2025 — Sudbury Zoning Board of Appeals continues full docket after illnesses leave only three members. Chair John Riordan, Clerk Frank Riepe and Jennifer Pincus opened the March 3 virtual meeting without absent members Michael Hershberg (flu) and newly elevated Alexander Dorjets (hospitalized), and continued the contested Case 25-02 appeal of the Planning Board's site-plan approval for Lots 1 and 2 at Harvey Farm Lane to April 7. Attorney Jonathan Silverstein, representing abutter Connie Stewart and backed by a same-day engineering letter from Sue Carter of Places Associates, told the board his client's goal was "not opposing the project, but rather trying to protect herself." Attorney Terry Morris, for the Mastriani family, said the nine-month process had already absorbed peer-reviewed engineering and traffic studies. Cases 25-05 (Gold fitness studio), 25-06 (Machado meeting space), 25-07 (Newbert-Langeal chickens) and 25-08 (Wen adult daycare) were all continued to April 7 at 4 p.m. on 3-0 votes; the Drumlin Development 40B modification at Orchard Hill was withdrawn without prejudice.
