Sudbury PBC recommends $505,000 Fairbank Community Center furniture purchase

SUDBURY — February 16, 2023 — Sudbury building committee backs $505,000 Fairbank furniture order and $8,122 in site cameras. The Permanent Building Committee voted unanimously Thursday to recommend the town manager fund Red Thread's furniture package for the new Fairbank Community Center up to $505,000, after a room-by-room review with senior center, Park and Recreation and Sudbury Public Schools users. Consultant Joel told members the running total was under $495,000 with about $10,000 held back for late changes in a curriculum room and mailroom. Members also approved $8,122.56 to Lantel for two construction-site security cameras required by the project's builder's risk policy. Co-Chair Craig Blake, pushing back on tightening qualifications for a separate DPW roof designer search, said the goal was to "evaluate as many proposals as we can get." Facilities Director Sandra also previewed a $125,000 interior reconfiguration concept for the DPW building.
