Sudbury Council on Aging recommends Paul Marotta for open seat

SUDBURY — August 16, 2022 — Sudbury Council on Aging unanimously recommends Paul Marotta to fill its open seat. The 6-0 vote, with members Don Sherman and Colin Warwick absent, sends the name to the Select Board after a July 25 interview by the membership subcommittee. Member Bob Lieberman said Marotta, a former credit-union executive with a finance background, was a "strong proponent" of volunteer work and interested in liaison roles. Chair Jeff Levine also assigned working groups to inventory communication platforms, survey peer towns on whether to drop "senior" from the center's name, and recruit colleges including Framingham State as programming partners before the new community center opens in fall 2023. The board will take up a draft welcoming statement responding to a June 28 Zoom-bombing of the Select Board at its Sept. 12 meeting.
