Sudbury Conservation Commission clears gas-line staging on Lincoln Meadows South

SUDBURY — January 9, 2023 — Sudbury Conservation Commission authorizes NUCO gas-line staging on Lincoln Meadows South. The commission voted unanimously on Jan. 9 to have staff draft a short-term use agreement with the utility, which plans to install roughly 400 linear feet of new gas main daily along Lincoln Road through the end of March and needs a 100-by-100-foot staging area on town conservation land. Conservation Coordinator Lori said town counsel recommended a fee, a restoration bond and secondary spill containment under vehicles; farmer Paul Cavicchio confirmed the staging will not disrupt his late-March pussy-willow harvest. Separately, members backed pulling all fee amounts out of the wetlands bylaw and into commission regulations, and removing a cap on consultant peer-review fees, ahead of a Feb. 1 deadline from the town clerk's codification consultant. The commission also issued an order of conditions for 14 tree-stump removals at 33 Barber Road and negative determinations for projects at 2 Elmwood Ave. and 29 Stone Road.
