Planning Board recommends against Brimstone Lane right of first refusal

SUDBURY — March 8, 2023 — Sudbury Planning Board urges Select Board to pass on $200,000 Brimstone Lane parcel. Chair Stephen Garvin said the chapter-land lot off Brimstone Lane offered "no value" for town planning given a stream, steep slopes and poor septic prospects, and the board voted unanimously to recommend against exercising the town's right of first refusal. Director of Planning Adam Deschano said staff could not identify how the parcel had ever qualified for recreation status. The board separately approved a stormwater permit for a five-bedroom dwelling at 461 North Road on a 5-0 vote and signed off on a CalWall vertical translucent-wall substitution at the Fairbank Community Center after Permanent Building Committee project manager Jennifer Pincus confirmed her committee's approval. Director of Facilities Sandra Duran previewed a $300,000 warrant article for a facility condition and space-use study covering roughly 488,618 square feet of town and school buildings.
