Planning Board advances MBTA zoning options, extends Eversource stormwater permit

SUDBURY — January 10, 2024 — Sudbury Planning Board opens 2024 with climate update, MBTA zoning options and Eversource extension. Sustainability Coordinator Danny Marini-King briefed members on the Climate Mobilization Action Plan, a renewed community electricity aggregation contract with Dynegy running through November 2025, and a $95,000 MVP 2.0 grant to update Sudbury's 2019 resilience plan. The board voted 5-0 to extend Eversource and DCR's Sudbury-Hudson Transmission stormwater permit to Jan. 27, 2026, after Mark Bergeron of Epsilon Associates said Eversource will finish civil work by mid-2024. Members continued the six-lot Bonnybrook Estates hearing to Feb. 28 after applicant John Duderian's proposal for a single multifamily structure with one affordable unit ran into the bylaw's 10 percent cap. Planning Director Adam Burney reported VHB has four 3A scenarios that meet compliance, with the residential portion of Meadow Walk plus the existing Coldbrook 40R district described as the most "benign" path.
