LS School Committee approves Susan Bottan as interim finance director

SUDBURY — June 10, 2025 — Lincoln-Sudbury Regional School Committee unanimously appoints Susan Bottan as interim director of finance and operations. Bottan, currently wrapping up in Wayland after earlier serving in Reading, was recommended by Superintendent Andrew Stephens following a panel and individual interview process. Member John J. Ryan, Jr. likened the transition — outgoing director Kirsten is leaving — to "a trade between the Red Sox and the Yankees." The committee also voted to dissolve its standalone calendar review subcommittee and form a six-member tri-district calendar review committee with Sudbury and Lincoln public schools, after MASC and the state Division of Open Government confirmed subcommittees cannot lower their own quorum thresholds. Chair Ravi Simon and Lucy Maulsby were named LS representatives, Charles Morton as alternate. Director of Curriculum Leslie also presented results from the district's first alumni survey since 2011, with 610 respondents and a notable gap between how alumni ranked "caring and cooperative relationships" (top importance) versus how they said LS delivered on it.
