LS School Committee approves superintendent evaluation and five overseas trips

SUDBURY — April 29, 2025 — LS School Committee rates superintendent proficient, approves five overseas trips and updated harassment policies. The Lincoln-Sudbury Regional School Committee on April 29 unanimously adopted Chair Ravi Simon's compiled 2024-2025 evaluation of Superintendent/Principal Andrew Stephens, rated proficient overall, with communication flagged for improvement. Members also unanimously cleared 2026 student trips to New Zealand, Paris and Normandy, Italy (two separate Latin and architecture itineraries), and Spain, with up to $1,000 per student in need-based aid available through a revolving account fed by EF Tours chaperone compensation. A four-policy package — ACAB, ACAB-R, ACC-R and the Policy on the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment, drafted by Alicia Palmer — passed 5-0 with Kevin Matthews abstaining, saying he had not "parsed these as scrupulously as I could have." Members also accepted a $14,000 ice hockey donation to revolving account 2415 and bid farewell to departing members Cara Endyke-Doran and Matthews and to Director of Finance and Operations Kirsteen Patterson, who leaves June 30 for Wayland.
