Lincoln-Sudbury hits 89 percent on state accountability, plans Nov. 27 data-analysis day

SUDBURY — November 8, 2023 — Lincoln-Sudbury earns top accountability tier but confronts subgroup MCAS gaps. Assistant Superintendent Leslie told the LS School Committee on Nov. 8 that the high school scored 9.5 of 10.7 weighted points — 89 percent — and the 87th accountability percentile statewide, placing it among 45 of 250 Massachusetts high schools in the "meeting or exceeding targets" category. The district score was 93 percent. But ELA, math and biology data show students with disabilities, low-income students and Black students significantly underrepresented in the meeting-and-exceeding categories; students with disabilities did jump from 44 to 53 percent in ELA. Member Kevin Matthews pressed for a locally agreed-upon peer-district list beyond the state's 10. The committee will hold a full-faculty data-analysis day Nov. 27 with Harvard's Dr. Elizabeth City, focused on ninth graders, alongside new Open Architects dashboards pulling from Aspen. Seniors Francis Yee and Nate Garazzo received the MASS Award for Excellence.
