Lincoln-Sudbury committee receives superintendent's entry findings at Roxbury METCO meeting

SUDBURY — April 2, 2024 — Lincoln-Sudbury superintendent unveils entry findings at Roxbury METCO meeting. Superintendent Andrew Stephens presented his entry findings report to the Regional School Committee on April 2, organized around connectedness, opportunity and achievement gaps, curriculum, and well-being, and flagged a planned ADA audit and a possible equity audit as next steps. METCO Director Damon told the committee 10 incoming students from Sudbury and eight from Lincoln have committed for next year, that 19 seniors are preparing for graduation, and that three secured Atkinson scholarships. Member John J. Ryan, Jr. said the belonging issue is "almost like a dream that we've been chasing for as long as I've been on the committee," urging review of past interventions. Vice-Chair Catherine Bitter pushed for "more precise language" on how the district will measure effectiveness. The committee retained its six-outlet publicity list for listening sessions over Ryan's objection to Sudbury Weekly.
