Historic Districts Commission approves US Siding sign with four uniformity conditions

SUDBURY — January 4, 2024 — Sudbury Historic Districts Commission approves new US Siding sign tied to neighboring storefront's design. The commission voted 5-0 on Jan. 4 to grant a certificate of appropriateness for a 72-inch by 24-inch matte aluminum sign at 357 Boston Post Road, applied for by Laura Perdomo on behalf of owner Leanne Zhao. Chair Anuraj Shah's motion conditioned approval on a physical black frame with a three-quarter-inch face and 1.5-inch depth, matching mounting height with the adjacent sign, and concealed or countersunk hardware. Vice Chair Taryn Trexler pulled the neighboring sign's prior approval to confirm the dimensional benchmark. The commission also corrected a December minutes error that had recorded a Concord Way roof and trim vote as 2-3 when the actual tally was 3-2, and named Trexler and member Jordan as its volunteers to a new joint stewardship working group with the Sudbury Historical Commission.
