Goodnow Trustees raise revolving fund caps, rewrite meeting room policy

SUDBURY — January 7, 2025 — Goodnow Library Trustees raise revolving fund caps and overhaul meeting room policy. The board on Jan. 7 voted unanimously to lift the library services revolving fund cap from $25,000 to $30,000 and the meeting room maintenance cap from $10,500 to $15,000, on new Finance Director Victor Garofalo's recommendation. Library Director Esmé Green reported about 70 passport applications processed in December — "two a day" — and a $9,500 second-year payment on the library's indigenous archives grant. Trustees also approved a rewritten meeting room policy opening the small conference room to free booking, after adding a time limit, cleanup language, and a wrap-up reminder. Sudbury Health Director Vivian Zhang used public comment to thank the library for hosting displaced social workers, saying "one person who met Nina immediately get a library card right after." Local history librarian Elle Harms was promoted to head of reference, leaving two department vacancies.
