Finance Committee defers EV charger vote, opposes Parkinson Field driveway design
SUDBURY — March 18, 2024 — Sudbury Finance Committee defers EV charger vote and rejects Parkinson Field driveway design. The committee held over Article 28, an $80,000 free-cash appropriation for two electric vehicle chargers at the Goodnow Library, after Town Manager Andy Sheehan called it a "belt and suspenders" backup to the town's roughly $1.1 million solar revolving fund. Combined Facilities Director Sandra Duran said Eversource incentive increases now make the project viable within six to 12 months. The committee voted against Article 40, $100,000 for Parkinson Field driveway design, after a Capital Improvement Advisory Committee 2-4 recommendation; member Eric called the existing access "a pothole riddled fire road," but Mara and Ryan questioned the cost near wetlands. The committee declined to take a position on the MBTA Communities zoning articles pending further deliberation April 1.
