CPC hears three FY27 design and renovation requests as January deliberations loom

SUDBURY — November 19, 2025 — Sudbury CPC takes testimony on roughly $402,000 in FY27 recreation requests. Parks and Recreation Director Dennis Mannone presented $214,000 to design improvements at Broadacres Farm and Featherland Park — a package preliminarily estimated at $3.2 million to build — and $122,000 to design two multipurpose fields at Davis Field, where a prior application was one of only two CPC requests ever rejected at town meeting. Combined Facilities Director Victor presented $66,000 to renovate the Haskell Field restrooms, up from a $45,000 initial ask after preliminary bids came in at $60,000 to $129,000. Member Daniel Carty pressed on portfolio capacity: "I just want to make sure that if we're going for all these now, that they're going to start to move shortly." Resident Len Simon called the Broadacres timing "at best premature." Deliberations begin in January; warrant articles are due Jan. 30.
