Board of Health unanimously accepts Sudbury Farms pest remediation plan
SUDBURY — October 24, 2024 — Sudbury Board of Health unanimously accepts Sudbury Farms remediation plan and 2025 remodel framework. The board voted 3-0 Thursday to approve a three-step action plan from Roach Bros. covering completed facility repairs, a full store remodel targeted for early spring 2025, and ongoing five-day-a-week pest monitoring. COO Roger Bowles told members the 1980s-era store, built "directly on a swamp," has had its gravel pits sealed with concrete and mapped, with two pending items — a settled rear storage container and two cracked steel dumpster chutes — slated for completion by early December. Food Safety Director Karen Ryan said camera activity "has completely dropped off since that last capture in the receiving area." Chair Carol Bradford, members Linda Huet-Clayton and Susan Sama all voted yes. The 2025 remodel will replace all refrigeration with CO2 systems, rebuild walls and ceilings, relocate floral to the front of the store, and seal all floor cavities.
