Sudbury Historic Districts Commission elects Shah chair, Trexler vice chair

SUDBURY — December 1, 2022 — Sudbury Historic Districts Commission elects new leadership and recommends a new member as two depart. At the Dec. 1 meeting, members unanimously elected Anuraj Shah as chair and Taryn Trexler as vice chair, replacing outgoing chair Fred Taylor and vice chair Susanna Finn, and voted to recommend Jordan Watts of 22 King Philip Road to the Select Board for one of two vacant seats. In the night's longest debate, the commission voted 4-1 — Christopher Hagger opposed — to approve a revised William Raveis sign package at 361 Boston Post Road, slashing three proposed 117-inch signs to no more than 24 inches tall with flush painted letters and a three-quarter-inch frame. "Just because it's been done — in my opinion, incorrect for 20 years — doesn't mean we keep that going," Shah said. The commission also approved Wayside Inn bridge stone-veneer details 3-0 and accepted the withdrawal of a contested application at 49 Carriageway Road.
