Sudbury disability commission drafts town meeting inclusion resolution
Commission on Disability · Meeting of January 13, 2026
Sudbury Commission on Disability drafts inclusion resolution for May town meeting. Chair Alicia Quinto and member Karen Jones walked the commission through a draft slide deck supporting a non-binding "full inclusion" warrant article modeled on Lexington's 2021 resolution, describing it as a "planning and decision-making lens" rather than a bylaw or funding request. Combined Facilities Director Sandra Duran reported that Haynes School will be brought to full ADA compliance as part of its summer MSBA roof project, that Feeley Field Phase 2 will add an accessible path avoiding a dugout route after the fall softball season, and that a professional school ADA self-assessment would run roughly $12,000.
The commission voted 4-0 to appoint Bessie Strzok as liaison to the DEI Commission and Annika Hardy to the Council on Aging. Members also floated a mandatory accessibility training video for elected and appointed officials.
