Sudbury Board of Health rescinds mask advisory in unanimous vote

SUDBURY — September 13, 2022 — Sudbury Board of Health unanimously rescinds town mask advisory as August cases fall to 61. Chair Carol Bradford, with members Susan Sama and Linda Huet-Clayton concurring, voted 3-0 Tuesday to lift the indoor masking advisory, citing aligned state and CDC guidance and no current hospitalizations among 58 confirmed and three probable August cases. Bradford warned the board "may have to go back to advisories in the winter" if school or community clusters emerge, while Huet-Clayton, joining by chat after audio failure, wrote that rescinding wouldn't "make much difference" given entrenched personal preferences. The board also appointed regional inspector Ann Lurie as a Board of Health agent, noted a $14,000 initial opioid-settlement payment, and heard that social worker Bethany Hadbab has distributed about $15,000 in ARPA basic-needs gift cards since May.
