Sudbury Board of Health may not renew permit for town's only cigar bar
SUDBURY — December 12, 2023 — Sudbury Board of Health may pull permit for town's only cigar bar over missing state license. Health Director Vivian Zeng told the board at its Dec. 12 meeting that if Victory Cigar cannot produce a current Department of Revenue smoking-bar license, she will recommend the local tobacco permit "be officially retired." Regional tobacco inspector Pari reported that of seven Sudbury retailers inspected, only two were violation-free, with citations for missing manufacturer letters, signage and permit paperwork; he issued educational warnings rather than fines. The board, with Chair Carol Bradford and member Susan Sama present and Linda Huet-Clayton absent, also unanimously reappointed Dr. Honig as consulting physician for three years and previewed a spring warrant article moving opioid settlement funds from a stabilization fund into a special revenue fund following state legislation passed Dec. 10.
