SUDBURY -- March 11, 2026, Sudbury Board of Health locks in new assistant health director and tracks three measles close contacts. Health Director Vivian told the board March 11 the department will onboard Mike Funaioli, previously a health inspector in Concord, as assistant health director on March 31 after interviewing nine candidates and three finalists. Staff reported three close-contact measles investigations in town, all involving residents either born before 1957 or fully MMR-vaccinated, against a state total of at least two confirmed cases. The March 28 household hazardous waste day, 8 a.m. to noon, is on hold while town counsel and vendor Clean Harbors rework liability language Vivian called "a nail biter." The board voted 3-0 to approve the Feb. 11 minutes as edited by member Linda Huet-Clayton, and tentatively set its next meeting for April 8.
