LS committee approves FY25 budget and adds four new courses for next year

SUDBURY — February 6, 2024 — Lincoln-Sudbury school committee approves FY25 budget and previews body cameras at the high school. The committee unanimously adopted the fiscal 2025 operating budget and the 2024-2025 program of studies — with one abstention — adding four new courses including AP Java programming and a unified physical education class pairing LS students with peers in adapted PE. Sudbury Police Chief Scott Nix and School Resource Officer Kim Mangano told members the department's body-worn and cruiser cameras go live Feb. 15, with Mangano expected to activate her camera in fewer than 5 percent of situations. "The cameras is something that is designed to increase public trust," Mangano said. Director of Finance and Operations Christine reported the district's excess and deficiency account was certified at $1,218,547. The committee also moved its March 5 meeting to March 6 to avoid election-day conflicts in both towns.
