Lincoln-Sudbury school board adopts 2022-23 goals, previews $590,000 capital ask

SUDBURY — September 13, 2022 — Lincoln-Sudbury school committee adopts 2022-23 goals and previews a $590,000 FY24 capital ask. The committee voted 4-0 to approve goals emphasizing METCO connectedness, defining "opportunity gap" metrics across grades, D's and F's, course placement and co-curricular participation, and pulling Superintendent Bella Wong's contract renewal vote forward to a target date of Oct. 11. Finance administrator Christine reported FY22 closed with a $316,156 reserve on a $34.86 million budget, 99 percent expended. The FY24 capital list includes $175,000 to replace unsupported lighting control panels, masonry repair on the graduation stairwell, an in-kind camera system replacement and an athletic van whose price has jumped well above last year's $65,000 approval. Wong reported 29 new METCO students against a 91 target, 19 Calculus Project participants and nine staff/24 student COVID-19 cases since school opened.
