Historic Districts Commission approves Rice Road roof, continues three cases to April
SUDBURY — March 7, 2024 — Sudbury Historic Districts panel approves a Rice Road roof and continues three cases for lack of quorum. Meeting March 7 with Chair Anuraj Shah absent, the commission granted a certificate of appropriateness for 16 Rice Road to replace failing wood garage shingles with Owens Corning driftwood architectural asphalt, conditioned on keeping the existing wood gutters and lining them with copper. The 4 Confidence Way homeowner, occupying under a temporary permit, warned that another month's delay risks the state's roughly 180-day cap. "If we move it another month, then I will start running out of temporary permit," he told the panel. Vice Chair Taryn Trexler ran the meeting; member John (Griff) G Noble was recused as a direct abutter on the two 4 Confidence Way cases, and a 84 Pecum Road new-build by Robert Green was continued pending Marvin window, GAF shingle and cupola detail.
