Goodnow trustees approve EV charger warrant article for Town Meeting
SUDBURY — January 2, 2024 — Goodnow Library Trustees forward EV charger warrant article to Town Counsel ahead of January deadline. The board voted unanimously Tuesday to approve the draft article with a grammatical fix to the final sentence and any changes Town Counsel recommends, after the library director reported the town manager called the roughly $80,000 capital request a potential "hard sell" given available EV grant funding. Trustees also set FY26 revolving fund caps at $10,500 for meeting room maintenance and $25,000 for library services, the latter fed by passport fees the director described as running "gangbusters." Library materials spending is at 57 percent at the fiscal midpoint, aided by a $10,000 foundation gift for e-books. A bylaw amendment adding public comment to the standing order of business was deferred to February under the seven-day notice rule.
