Conservation Commission orders restoration at two unpermitted Sudbury clearing sites

SUDBURY — August 8, 2022 — Sudbury Conservation Commission issues two enforcement orders for unpermitted clearing near wetlands. The commission unanimously ordered restoration at Buddy Dog Humane Society's 151 Boston Post Road property, where pines were cut within 100 feet of a wetland, and at 592 Hudson Road, where a dental-office tenant and landscaper cleared trees onto adjacent Department of Conservation and Recreation land. Buddy Dog representative Steve Burt told members "our first concern was health and safety" and apologized for not seeking a permit. Both orders require native shrub plantings and invasive-species removal in lieu of full Notice of Intent filings. The commission also recommended the Select Board decline its Chapter 61B right of first refusal on a $1 million lot at 137 Brimstone Lane, and approved negative determinations for a 9,090-foot Boston Gas main on Lincoln Road and a septic replacement at 96 Warren Road.
