Conservation Commission clears Wayside Inn Road house tied to 9.5-acre protection deal

SUDBURY — December 12, 2022 — Sudbury Conservation Commission approves Wayside Inn Road home tied to permanent protection of 9.5 acres. The unanimous vote on a long-continued notice of intent from applicant Elizabeth Rudenberg requires 4.9 acres to be deeded to the Sudbury Valley Trustees and 4.62 acres placed under a conservation restriction — about 96 percent of the 9.9-acre lot. Conservation Coordinator Lori Capone said the findings were drafted to avoid setting "a precedence for future construction on lots that are really tight." Vice-Chair Kenneth Holtz pushed for tighter enforcement of a condition requiring manual buckthorn removal across the property, warning the commission risks losing "oversight of it once the land changes hands." The board also continued hearings on 5 Hunt Road and 33 Barber Road, and flagged a rejected Framingham CPA application to build a motocross park abutting Nobscot Hill conservation land.
