CIAC approves eight capital articles, tables Parkinson Field driveway design
SUDBURY — February 26, 2024 — Sudbury Capital Improvement Advisory Committee clears eight articles for May warrant, holds Parkinson Field driveway. The committee, led by Chair Matthew Dallas, voted 6-0 to recommend $600,000 for Bruce Freeman Rail Trail Phase 3 design, $625,000 for Old Sudbury Road culverts, $400,000 for the Wayside Inn Road bridge replacement with stone veneer and steel-backed guardrails, $560,000 for two DPW swap-body trucks, $120,000 for a Chevrolet 3500 pickup with plow, $130,965 as Sudbury's share of LSRHS exterior stairwell work, and $144,585 for LSRHS interior lighting panels. A $100,000 design request for the Parkinson Field driveway was tabled after members said the figure was a placeholder without a vendor proposal. "I don't think the project is defined enough for us to approve it," member Thomas Travers said. Dallas will contact planning assistant Marsha Rasmussen for more information before the next meeting.
