Camp Siwataro swimming pond opens to Sudbury residents over the Fourth of July holiday weekend as temperatures approach 104 degrees.

SUDBURY -- The swimming pond at Camp Siwataro will be open to residents from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 3rd, 4th, and 5th, Select Board members announced at their June 30th meeting, offering relief during a forecasted heat wave with temperatures near 104 degrees on the holiday. The pond is also scheduled to reopen August 1st and 2nd.

Select Board member Charlie Russo highlighted the Camp Siwataro pond access during remarks about the heat emergency, inviting residents looking to enjoy the warm weather while staying cool to take advantage of the site.

YOUTH LEAGUES

Sudbury Youth Soccer Association has opened Fall 2026 registration for players in Pre-K through 2nd grade, with an August 1 deadline. Families with children in grades 3–8 who missed the May 25 deadline may still register if space allows, per the SYSA website. July and August summer camps are also open for enrollment. The SYSA website additionally notes that the Sudbury Academy Girls United and Gunners squads won a tournament championship, though no date was listed for that result.
