Energy and Sustainability Committee · Meeting of July 14, 2026

Sudbury energy committee recommends Blair Stewart, sets Haskell Field solar geotech for August 10-14. The Energy and Sustainability Committee voted 5-0 Tuesday to recommend Stewart, a Sudbury resident and Tech Mahindra strategic sales executive, to the Select Board for appointment to its sixth seat, with a Select Board interview scheduled for Aug. 11. Chair Olga Faktorovic-Allen described a refreshed committee strategy organized around three objectives: curbing climate change, pursuing energy independence, and enhancing resilience.

Facilities Director Sandra reported Haskell Field geotechnical testing will run Aug. 10-14 for the Solect Energy solar canopy project, with construction targeted for summer 2027 and a stormwater permit likely required. The committee tabled its Solar Revolving Fund criteria review until town Munis accounting data becomes available in early August, and capped supplemental Weston and Sampson vulnerability assessment work at $10,000 against a $15,000 consultant request. "It's been a frustration for me to get this ton of money," Sandra said of the revolving fund's undocumented criteria.
