Sudbury Conservation Commission approves Water Row repaving with six conditions

SUDBURY — July 25, 2022 — Sudbury Conservation Commission clears 1.9-mile Water Row repaving with six conditions. The commission voted 5-0 on July 25 to issue a negative determination of applicability for milling, full-depth patching, berm removal and culvert relining within wetland buffer zones and floodplain along Water Row. Assistant Director of Public Works and Town Engineer Bill O'Rourke, presenting for DPW Director Dan Nason, said three of the road's 11 corrugated-metal culverts would be relined with a steam-cured fabric liner he called "structurally sound" and good for "another 50 to 100 years." Conservation staffer Lori said floodplain segments near Route 27 and Lincoln Lane disqualified a full state exemption, requiring bylaw review. Conditions include pre-construction spot grades, no stockpiling in jurisdictional areas, and shoulder stabilization within 72 hours. A Boston Gas main RDA was tabled when no applicant appeared; a Harvey Farm Lane RDA was continued to Aug. 22.
