Lincoln-Sudbury committee reviews three-year Advisory Program ahead of Monday launch

SUDBURY — November 22, 2022 — Lincoln-Sudbury rolls out 30-minute weekly Advisory Program after three years of design. Program leaders Rachel Cook and Tim Jason, with colleague Tracy Ryan, told the regional School Committee Tuesday that all four grades will meet simultaneously each Thursday beginning after a Nov. 28 staff PD day led by consultant Rachel Polliner. Superintendent-Principal Bella said Metro West Health Survey data showed students feel connected to adults but not to peers, and that advisors will be "facilitators for those connections." Member Kevin questioned the time and cost trade-off; Cook said advisors will be evaluated on delivering standardized content. Director Christine reported the OPEB discount rate rose to 5.94 percent from 4.75 percent after a $500,000 combined contribution, and that superintendent search RFPs went to firms Tuesday with a mid-May hire target.
